horses

Since Aya was in horse camp the last two weeks, we watched a lot of films around the subject and netflix has plenty to offer... one in particular, "Flicka" had me wondering about those perfectly dressed "hollywood" housewives who could iron and ride a horse without a hair out of place... look at her perfect jeans and splendid blouse... a cowboy's wife? really?

perfect beach day

gilgo beach, surf contests, salami sandwiches, pickles and beer... sparkling water, waves and mystic fog.... squeals of delight, fried clams, salt water blondes....

the visitor

Beautiful film by Thomas McCarthy, The Visitor touches on how our life can suddenly take on a new direction upon meeting someone new. Not to mention the absolutely gorgeous Haaz Sleiman who also plays on Nurse Jackie (I'm so hooked!)

heaven in bovina

Well I'm not sure it is heaven, but it is a pretty lovely spot in Delaware county, especially for their gourmet pizza night on fridays. Jan and I sample the white eggplant ricotta and sweet marina on our first night up in Andes. And yes, Jan is dreaming about his future car... it starts early

michael

I haven't posted yet on Michael's death and like everyone else, he played huge influence in my youth. From the Michael and ET poster hanging in my bedroom when I was 12 to the "thriller" album I got on my 13th birthday...
Tonight I found this beautiful video directed by the legendary Herb Ritts, co-staring Noami Campbell. Of course Michael is the star. And as I watch him, astonished by his flawless dancing, I am saddened by the loss of a great man who lived under so much pressure of the public eye.
