Aya's summer

We had many great events this summer but this has really been Aya's summer in every way. It all started with 3 birthday parties, a trip to switzerland, horseback riding camp, and swimming in florida. She learned to tie her shoe, fly solo on a plane, write letters, take care of a horse, fish, sleep on her own and make her bed. As she soon enter's 1st grade, this has been her summer of 1st and I cannot even find the words to express how proud I am of her, how humbled by her beauty, her courage. Aya ma petite cherie!

missing Äya

My beautiful Äya is in florida with my mom... missing her terribly and can't wait to see her on friday when she flies back solo for the first time. Here she is with her favorite "boy" friend, Adrian. God, what a cool girl she is!

Jan and I absorbed some great new pieces at ps 1 on sunday. Two that particularly grabbed our attention was Jonathan Horowitz: And/Or, especially for Jan was his Michael Jackson piece the body song (earth song played backward) and Leandro Erlich's Swimming Pool 

My friend Mike Reddy (illustrator and art director extraordinaire) just finished this video for the Fiery Furnaces Amazing color and line work!
